How to Add Reference Material to Lessons on HeyLoopy

Adding Reference Material

Reference material provides students with context and supporting information that appears alongside questions during their loops. You can add text content, links, and images as reference material.

Adding Reference Material to a View Group

View groups are sets of answer variations within a lesson. Each view group can have its own reference material.

  1. From the Staff Portal, open a module and navigate to a lesson.
  2. Click View Groups in the lesson menu.
  3. Click on a view group to open its detail page.
  4. Click Reference > Edit to add or modify reference material.
  5. Enter the reference text that students should see when answering questions in this view group.
  6. Save your changes.

Adding Images to References

  1. From the view group reference edit page, click Add Image.
  2. Select an image from your uploaded gallery or upload a new one.
  3. The image will be displayed alongside the reference text during student loops.

Adding Links to Lessons

  1. Open a lesson within a module.
  2. Click Links in the lesson menu.
  3. Add URLs that are relevant to the lesson content.
  4. Students can access these links when viewing the lesson details.

Adding Files to Lessons

  1. Open a lesson within a module.
  2. Click Files in the lesson menu.
  3. Click Add to upload a file.
  4. Students can download these files when viewing the lesson details.

Tips

  • Good reference material helps students understand why an answer is correct, not just what the correct answer is.
  • Keep reference text concise and focused on the specific questions in the view group.
  • Images are especially effective for visual subjects or when the question relates to a diagram or chart.
